Teaching Kids About Bonking

This is one of the poems that Form 4 students have to learn:

He Had Such Quiet Eyes by Bibsy Soenharjo

He had such quiet eyes
She did not realise
They were two pools of lies
Layered with thinnest ice
To her, those quiet eyes
Were breathing desolate sighs
Imploring her to be nice
And to render him paradise.

If only she’d been wise
And had listened to the advice
Never to compromise
With pleasure-seeking guys
She’d be free from “the hows and whys” .

Now here’s a bit of advice
Be sure that nice really means nice
Then you’ll never be losing at dice
Though you may lose your heart once or twice.

It's basically about a girl who got duped by a sweet talking asshole who just wanted to bonk her.  And swindle her moolahs while he's at it too.

Well that's just how I explain it to the kids.  No need beating around the bush, nor being all prudish about it.  Plus, it stucks in their heads like glue.

So this is what I got from their last test:

But then again, is my teaching even legal?

Straight to the point!! Hahaha..Legal or not legal at least your ss got the message ba. Better that than having them write a paragraph of nothings on the answer sheet. XD

ahahaha i taught the same thing about men and women trying to get into each others pants, and the consequences.

if they could answer like your students did, i'd be set for the entire year.

at least we talk about what parents could bring themselves to discuss with their kids.

let say i was not in ur class and have to answer question C ...my answer would probably be 'he wants pleasure from the girl'....is that an acceptable answer? LOL!

if only u were my bio teacher when i sat for spm, i would have passed the subject with flying colors manda ^_^

Amanda Christine Wong said...

carol: hehe..well, that's actually the correct, more polite answer for it. so yay, betul! hehe...oh gosh, i think hell will break loose if i ever teach bio! :D
